Probiotic Air Optimiser Diffuser Test – Pollen
22nd March 2022
This independent lab study by BMA-Labor GbR in Germany tested how effectively Provilan probiotics reduce airborne pollen allergens when used in a diffuser.
The allergen in question was Bet v 1, a major protein in birch pollen and a common cause of hay fever and allergic skin reactions. Researchers applied the allergen to cotton cloths, then compared untreated samples (control) with cloths exposed to Provilan SEM 091 diffused in a closed chamber for one hour.
The results showed that the Provilan treatment reduced the allergen content by 19.2% compared to the control. This demonstrates a clear, measurable improvement in allergen levels – without the need for chemicals or filters.
The test used ELISA 2.0 immunoassay methods to accurately measure the presence of Bet v 1. Allergen reduction was achieved through the action of airborne probiotics, released by the diffuser, which can degrade and reduce organic allergen particles.
This finding is especially useful for people and pets with pollen sensitivities, offering a protection during allergy seasons.
