Probiotic Spray Reduces Antibiotic Needs for Ted's Dog Bite

Sept 16 2024

Ted, a seven-year-old Toy Poodle, sustained a deep 6cm dog bite wound on his neck. After disinfecting and rinsing the wound, Ted's vet applied LUCAA+ Probiotic Pet Dermo Care Spray (previously called LUCAA+ Wound Care) before surgical closure.

Ted received only one antibiotic injection (amoxicillin/clavulanic acid), with instructions for his owner to spray the wound twice daily at home.

After three days, Ted's wound was healing well with no complications, and he was comfortable. Ten days later, the staples were removed, and no further treatment was required.

This case demonstrates how LUCAA+ Probiotic Dermo Care Spray can promote healthy healing whilst reducing the need for antibiotics.

Note: LUCAA+ Dermo Care spray supports pet skin health but is not a medicine. We always recommend consulting your vet if in any doubt.
